Hello there! I am Jibril Rasheed and I am quite new to the open study program. I wanted to know if I need some type of assistance on my essay how would I go about mastering that. Just need some editing added to it.
I'm new too . . . from what I've observed so far, people post requests such as this and others jump in to help as they can. All depends on what you're looking for. I have some time to look over written work and can respond. My style, though, would not be to simply fix problems (grammar, usage, sentence structure, development, and so on), but to point out passages that need work and what sort of work they need. Sort of like a tutor. Is this something you might be looking for?
I should say too that I'd need to know the context of the writing -- where you are in your schooling (high school, lower division college coursework, upper division college coursework), something about the class the work is for, and the text of the actual assignment.
ok great that would be just fine! Im in graduate school, and we had to write on a topic such as quantitative and qualitative. Is that good enough
Ooops, sorry, just saw your response now. That sounds like a thin assignment. Is this a research paper, an argumentative paper, a combination? Is this for an English class of some sort, or a class in another field? I ask, because the expectations can vary. I need to head out for a couple of hours. I'll check here for a response when I get back.
Jilbrilrasheed. Welcome to OpenStudy! If you need help with your essay, just post on what you need, and we'll help you. We won't write the essay for you, but we'll help you flesh out ideas if you need it, act as a sounding board, and help you with errors, fine-tuning, and citations. So post away, I'm looking forward to helping you!
Specific and pointed questions are going to get the quickest response (i.e. Does the period go inside or outside the quotation mark?) Broader questions take longer to answer and respond to (i.e. What type of essay should I write if I'm writing on the topic of ____?). And will usually require multiple posts back and forth to get the answer you want. Also keep in mind that only you know what type of formatting, and other class or instructor specific requirements there are, so it is helpful to post that information with your question. For example, I'm and expert in academic writing in APA format and fiction writing. Others are experts in MLA (Redwood girl is an expert in Chicago sytle) and/or other types of writing. If you post as much information about the type of writing and format you use the appropriate people can answer your questions quickly.
