can some one help to convert 33.8% to an equivalent decimal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I always move the decimal place two to the left to make an equivalent decimal. For example 74.239% = .74239

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

@Broken Fixer is correct. percent means "out of 100", so:\[33.8\%=\frac{33.8}{100}\]and dividing by 100 is the same as moving the decimal point two places to the left.

thank you very much
