when i am switiching to the math group i see that my level says 60 for a second then changes to 54. this always makes me happy then boom to sadness..

Just think of the near future karatechopper (when you've achieved a level of over 60), then you will initially be sad but then BOOM - HAPPY! :-)

because it shows total level, i see it too, but for a very short time sometimes i can't even see it, just another number because my total level is different

Total level isn't actually calculated by summing your levels, but rather by summing your XP in each level and then seeing what level that translates to.

Ok let me explain. First it shows your total level (61). Then, after 1-2 seconds (depends on your internten velocity and browser), it shows your level at the mathematics group (54). Then we just need to quote what shadowfriend said:
