can anyone help me in mathematical modeling

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x/4+1=x/5+2

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

\[\frac x4 + 1 = \frac x5 + 2\]That?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes could you show me how to work that out

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Subtract 1 from each side,\[\frac x4 = \frac x5 + 2 - 1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

\[\frac x4 = \frac x5 +1\]

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Now, move the fractions to the other side, \[\frac x4 - \frac x5 = 1\] Taking LCM = 20 \[\frac{5x - 4x}{20} = 1\] \[\frac{x}{20} = 1\]

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Im sure you can solve further! :D
