Hi! I need to make sure this is right, my teachers strict so it has to be perfect. factor trinomial: a^4-a^2-42 Thank you! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ill type what i got

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(a^2-7)(a^2+6) is this correct?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*hug* thank you! :)

OpenStudy (turingtest):

you could apply difference of squares to the first parentheses if you wanted to though...\[(a^2-7)(a^2+6)=(a-\sqrt7)(a+\sqrt7)(a^2+6)\]but that seems like overkill to me. You did say your teacher was picky though...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats ok, but thanks :)
