Find the perimeter and area of the shape attached.

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Okay there is a rectangle & a circle

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

*semicircle

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Area= Area of rectangle + area of semicircle

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Area of rectangle = length x breadth = 9 x 3= 27

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[20+2.5\pi \] is the perimeter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In this case pi=3.142

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[27+3.125\pi\] is the area

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Area of semicircle = 1/2 pi * r^2 =1/2*3.14*2^2 =6.28 total area = 27 +6.28=33.28

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is the area, not the perimeter..

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Even Area of the shape is asked in the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay..do u know the perimeter?

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Perimeter= 3+3+9+5 + circumference of semicircle =20 + pi*2 =20+6.28 =26.28

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thats right :)

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

\[ Area \ of \ Rectangle = length \times breadth \]\[Area \ of \ semicircle = \frac{1}{2} \times \pi \times r^2\]\[Perimeter \ of \ semicircle = \pi \times r\]

OpenStudy (shayaan_mustafa):

You can find perimeter of the given shape as you calculate parts. perimeter=\[\pi r^{2}+5+9+3+3\] \[\pi r\]=perimeter(circumference) of the semi-circle. 5=given upper half length 9=given lower full length 3=left side width 3=right side width
