Jose and Aparna were attempting to rotate the axes to eliminate the xy term for the equation x^2+2xy+3y^2-4x+5y-30 . Jose used theta= -pi/8 and Aparna used theta=3pi/8 . The students got different equations in x’ and y’, but both were correct. Explain how this is possible.
