The dimensions of a rectangle are such that its length is 7in more than its width. If the length were ndoubled and the width was decreased by 3in, the area would be increased by 168in^2. What are the length and width of the rectangle? Only need formula, don't need answer. I know its a quadratic formula but don't do good on word problems. TY

l = w + 7 (2l)(w + 3) - l*w = 168

That formula doesn't work right. Am I doing something wrong?
