find the value of x if B is the midpoint of AC, AB=2x+9, and AC=34 (please explain how to solve)

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

if B is the midpoint of AC, then AB equals half of AC, so you can write:\[AB=2x+9=34/2=17\]and then solve for x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and what would x be

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u do all the work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ x= 4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did u get 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We are just here to do all the work for you.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

@peaceluvdance - how much algebra do you know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exuse me im in geomerty and i got A's in algebra

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

then you should be able to solve the equation:\[2x+9=17\]which part of this are you stuck on?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ur verrry rude

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

I am trying to help you by finding out where you find most difficulty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are a very rude person who r u to say "how much algebra do u know"? dont worry i already reported u

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

I apologise if I came across as rude - but that was not my intention. I am really trying to help you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks than help me with this next one if m<CDB=20 degrees and m<DBE=45 degress find m<EBC

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

Sorry - I got logged out for a while - just got back in

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

So do you know how to solve the previous problem or do you want me to show you the steps?

myininaya (myininaya):

Hey peaceluvdance. I have seen Asnaseer a lot on this site. He is all about helping people. I think he was just trying to help you. We are unaware of how much people know and that is probably why he was asking what you knew. He was trying to see how much you knew in order to determine where to start on helping you. If you work with asnaseer enough, you will totally see he is an awesome helper. By the way, I'm sorry you felt that you were being rude too. It is sometimes hard to tell if people mean well on the internet. And I can assure you that asanseer means well.
