If 2 g of a substance released 300 cal how many kilocalories were involved? Answer in units of kcal? ANSWER PLEASSEE

OpenStudy (kainui):

First off, what do you need to do in this problem? It looks like you have to convert 300 cal from calories to kilocalories. How many calories are in a kilocalorie? In the metric system, what does the prefix kilo- mean? Using that information, you can set up a conversion factor. In this problem, the number of grams isn't useful at all, since the mass has nothing to do with a conversion from calories to kilocalories.
