hey there.. i have just started watching the videos. any ideas on learning python? i am new to python?
I'd just say you're in the right place. I knew nothing about Python when I started, but the lectures are clear and the people here are helpful. :)
the idea is simple. watch the videos. read the material. do the exercises. and sweat a little or a lot. that's how one learns.
the course is not about learning python. it's learning the science and art of computation. they are just using python as the programming language. the programming language is just the means.
it is very simple. i have started out with the first one. python is smart and very short. thank god for IDLE. thanks. will keep the heat going!
good luck and happy programming!
In the linked reading material, 'How to think like a Computer Scientist' (python version) is especially helpful ^^
Is anyone using any other learning material to aid these lectures? I'm classroom challenged, I can't say that I'm understanding %100.
read the tutorial in the documentation. read the Python wiki http://wiki.python.org/moin/
