how do I put this into scientific notation: -1456.90

OpenStudy (kainui):

Scientific notation is about putting a number into a different format where your number is somewhere between 10 and 0 by taking out multiples of 10. For instance, 555 in scientific notation is 5.55 x 10^2 since if you multiplied it out, you'd get the same number. 10^2 is the same thing as 10 x 10 which is just 100, each power gives you an extra decimal place, so in this example 5.55 moves over to the right two times.
