Choose the point which is a solution to the system of inequalities: 4x – 5y > –40 x + 6y >= 36

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The greater then or equal to sign is throwing me off... do i solve it normally?

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

ok, two ways of solving it.. btw hey sweden :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hey Akshay, thanks for helping me!

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

one is you graph the two inequalities

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

which can be done by first plotting the line , then finding the area in which the inequality is satisfied.. Doing that for both the inequalities you get a common area which is your solution.. So u have to see which point lies in that area

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

The second is more simpler

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OKay...

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

u just substitute the points given in the two inequalities above and see which point satisfies both the equations :D that is your answer :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank You!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I keep on forgetting i can just plug and play!

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

My pleasure!! if u still have any doubt i am always there for you :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank You... Gotta love practice for midterms!

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):
