Why is it important to make sure that your car always has an adequate supply of brake fluid?

If we run out of brake fluid, we will suck air into the master cylinder. Since air is a compressible fluid, while brake fluid is not, we will not be able to provide enough pressure to the brake cylinders to produce enough friction to stop the vehicle.
