John (60kg) ran into Bob(70kg), at a speed of 5m/s. After the incident they hug each other ( I don't know if that sentence has anything to do with the problem, my teacher is odd sometimes >.>)

What is their final speed AND what type of reaction is this

It's almost certainly an inelastic collision, meaning after they collide they move together. Use Conservation of Momentum to find their combined speed after the collision.
