a. rocks cannot attack (they are inanimate objects)
b. rocks can pelt
c. the red coats was a derogatory name so why would you give someone small rocks if you dislike them
d. why are they holding rocks? Isn't there some sort of Massacre that is going to happen?

If you have a hard time, why not just try using common sense. Common sense works wonders a lot of times...
