I remember the old ply-wood caravans that were death-traps on wheels, usually for motorists following along. I just had visions of one trying to negotiate the roads, jungles, rivers and terrain of Western Africa. This story could perhaps be a guide to the garages and repair shops of the region. Bound to be many metaphors spring up from such a journey.
