Grammar help please, with form of verb "to be" below: 1. We would pay more attention to what we teach if we knew our syllabi are subject to intense scrutiny. OR 2. We would pay more attention to what we teach if we knew our syllabi were subject to intense scrutiny. OR 3. We would pay more attention to what we teach if we knew our syllabi would be subjected to intense scrutiny.

To be Present tense: I am We are You are You are He/She/It is They are Past tense: I was We were You were You were He/She/It was They were Perfect Form (past participle) I have been, etc. Progressive Form (present participle) I am being, etc.
