Hello! I am mentioning my friend's thoughts in an APA formatted paper. Do I need to cite her even if I'm not quoting her directly, and if so, how do I cite an individual person?!?! Thanks!

Yes cite her. You do not need a reference page entry, but you do need an in-text citation. For example: Dogs that chase parked cars have flat noses (J. Doe, personal communication, January 4, 2012).
