ln(3x+4)-ln(2x+1)=5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

; OTL. either way. log rules so. that equals: ln( (3x+4) /( 2x+1 ) ) =5 (3x+4)/(2x+1) = e^5. you can solve from here :)

OpenStudy (curry):

i did and i got 0.49149 but when i plug it back in i get 2 as my asnwer

OpenStudy (curry):

whay did i do wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Very close. missing a negative sign. it's -0.49.... i'll leave you to find out the negative sign unless you want to show working

OpenStudy (curry):

ooo nvm i found it

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

ok so 3x+4 = e^5(2x+1) 4-e^5 = x(2e^5 -3) x = (4-e^5)/(2e^5-3) = -.49149
