I am writing an essay about William the Conqueror but they call him William the Bastard. Am I aloud to put that or can I paraphrase and make it the exact same?

It's "allowed" not "aloud". Also, I don't see what the paraphrase here would be, however, I would suggest that you use the name that your teacher gave you for him. If you want to use William the Bastard, find a reliable (read:not wikipedia) source that says says he was called that, and says why he was called that. Then in your paper spend a paragraph explaining that, and quoting your source. Or if you do paraphrase, make sure you still cite. So say "[Name of source} says that William the Conqueror was also called William the Bastard because [short version of why]"
