the work of william Shakespeare is perhaps the best example of ? literature. a.Elizabethan B. baroque c. Gothic d. Mannerist
It's not c or d. I forget what baroque is, but I believe the answer is A
That is a very tough question. The Elizabethan Era was between about the mid-14th century to the beginning of the 15th century and the Baroque period was from 1600-1750. Shakespeare's works range from about 1594-1634 with a lot being written in 1623. So most of his works were written in the Baroque period, but I think he was considered an Elizabethan poet. But I can't be 100% positive.
Elizabeth I reigned from 1558 to 1603, and Shakespeare was active as a playwright from roughly 1589 to 1613, meaning he did much of his work during the Elizabethan period. Mannerism and Gothic style came earlier, and the Baroque period was later.
