1st law If the sum of the resultant forces on an object is equal to zero, then the object stays at rest or continues to move in a straight line at a constant velocity 2nd law If the resultant forces on a object are not zero, then an object of mass m will move with an acceleration a in such a way that F=ma. 3rd law Every action has an equal and opposite reaction
