I just started course 6.00. When following the link to Python I downloaded version 2.7.2 as opposed to the (2008) recommended version of 2.5.4. Is version 2.7.2 satisfactory for this coursework?

I just started course 6.00.  When following the link to Python I downloaded version 2.7.2 as opposed to the (2008) recommended version of 2.5.4.  Is version 2.7.2 satisfactory for this coursework?

Both of the versions are basically the same,, the only difference is some of the commands will not work in version 2.7.2. as the do in 2.5.4. but a quick search on google will show you the updated method, i have done the same and i havnt encountered anything to mind boggling

Go with 2.7.2, the most current stable version.  2.5.4 was recommended in the course because it was the most current version at the time of the recordings.
