What is the equation of the line that passes through the point (2, 3) and is perpendicular to the line y = -x - 3? y = -x - 1 y = -x + 5 y = x + 1 y = x + 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the slope of a line perpendicular to y = mx + c has slope -1/m so in your case the slope is 1/-1 using this and plugging in value x=2 and y=3 into the above to see if they satisfy the equation will give you the answer

sorry - second line typo : slope is -1 / -1
