Which line has a slope of 1/2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (radar):

The horizontal lines have a slope of 0 The diagonal has a negative slope. That would leave those two slanting sides as m=1/2. (I think)

OpenStudy (radar):

Any ideas Zed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@radar I think that's right, I don't know any other way to find out with the given information

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ML and JK

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope I'll do it again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not ML and JK? OHH ! right. the slope of ML and JK is 2. and then MK has a slope of -1/2... hmm ye sorry. those are the only given lines. ):

wrong pic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm pretty sure with this one it's line C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cause slope is rise over run. if you take your pencil from point (-4,0) and draw a dot moving to the right twice (run) and up once (rise) you get to point (-2,1) and since Line C is going up to the right it would be positive. do you get how i arrived with that answer ? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

somewhat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1327028009013:dw| this is an example. to get to point 0,1 -2,0 has to go to the TWO units to the right and ONE unit up. so -2,0. say -2,0 is a car. it wants to travel to point B, which is point 0,1. we'll say the coordinate points are stop lights. and the coordinate grip was a map. |dw:1327028443142:dw| SO, in order for the car to get from point A to point B it has to travel TWO stop lights to the right. and then go up (north) one stop light.
