Choose the correct description of the graph of the inequality -6x < 30

hero (hero):

Coral, I want to help you, but..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but what?

hero (hero):

I don't think you're getting these.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am trying to get them! but they just confuse me alot

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Divide both sides by -6 and don't forget to reverse the inequality symbol because you will be dividing by a negative number.

hero (hero):

That's the thing. She doesn't really have to do that. I think that's the confusing part. I was trying to convince her to do it a different way: -6x < 30 Subtract 30 from both sides, then add 6x to both sides: -30 < 6x Then divide both sides by 6: -30/6 < x -5 < x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i dont know if it is a open crcle or a closed one?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

It is open. Because it is only > or < not >= or <=.
