What is the geometric mean of 3 and 8?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

\[geoMean(g_1,g_2,g_3,...,g_n)=\sqrt[n]{g_1*g_2*g_3*...*g_n}\]

huh? im sorry. i dont understand that formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

geometric mean is the nth root after multiplying n numbers.. ex. if you have 2 numbers: a,b do sqrt(a*b) 3numbers? do cube root(a*b*c*) 4 numbers? 4th-root (a*b*c*d)

thanks (:
