PLZ HELP Determine whether each expression is a polynomial. 1. f(x)=3x+4/3x^3-7 2. g(x)=-5x^3+x-3/x 3. h(x)=x^3√5+x-3 4. k(x)=25x^2-x^3+x^5

OpenStudy (mertsj):

What is the definition of a polynomial?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um An expression of more than two algebraic terms.... but idk if #2 is one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can x be the denominator?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

A polynomial is an expression made with constants, variables and exponents which are combined using addition, subtraction and multiplication...but not division The exponents can only be 0,1,2,3... It cannot have a infinite number of terms.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

So is # 1 a polynomial?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so one and two are not

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and three and four are because they are not dividing

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Because they are made with constants, variables and exponents combined with addition, subtraction and multiplication. And there are no fractional or negative exponents.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sweet thank you!!! everytime you help me I understand it.. so thank you!!!!
