In how many different ways can the letters of the word coconut be arranged? Please explain how to do this to me.

if all the letters were different it would be 7! but since you have two repeats it is \[\frac{7!}{2!\times 2!}\]

i am not sure that was an explanation or just an answer, but the point is that you cannot tell the two c's and two p's apart

There are no p's in coconut :) But I understand now, and the answer is not 7!, it is 1260, or 7!/4

so would the word lollipop be 8!/3! x 2! x 2!
