A computer company gives a discount of 10% on a new piece of software. If it makes a profit of 4%, what percent does the marked price exceed the cost price?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bet we can do this with numbers. supposed the marked price is $100 then after a 10% discount it is $90. they make a 4% profit, so the cost would be \[90\div 1.04=\$86.54\] rounded so marked price exceeds cost price by $13.56 \[13.46\div 90= 15\% \] rounded now let me try to do it for real
