The fall of the USSR proved that corruption and greed can happen in any political system, communist, socialist, or capitalist, as long as people are involved. Power can corrupt people, regardless of political system. Judging from the widespread unemployment and poverty in capitalistic societies, that system has clearly been found far from perfect.
