why is a stem and leaf plot called a stem and leaf plot?
:O
It's called that because a leaf is on a stem just like in the stem and leaf plot work... The stem is the first number and the leaf is the second one... Example Stem = 1 on 12 and the leaf is 2... Get it?
i never knew what one was, and still don't.
lol, khan academy taught me
Satellite, I'm surprised to know that you don't know something
a leaf is on a stem just like in the stem and leaf plot. what? the leaf (in the plot) is not on the stem. that made no sense.
ahahaha
Lol that's just how I was taught.. In 7th grade. It's been a while.. :P
any other explanations?
please?
I think this stuff was in my 7th grade math book, but the teachers probably skipped it because they didn't know it.
i kinda learned it in 4th. then 5th. then 6th. then i moved. learning it again in 7th, and still don't know why its called that.
anyway, i still need to know why...
1 5678 2 78990 3 9056821 4 36963 does that look like a stem and leaf? - a little perhaps
ummm. no?
that looks like some numbers. isn't the stem like, inside the leaf?
oooh wait! is the stem coming off the leaf? okay... get it now. oops...
thanks, bye!
