the role of meiosis is that it it enters in the formation of the secondary spermatocyte in the sprematogenisis and the formation of the secondary oocyte and the three polar bodies in the oogenisis.....also it reduces the chromosomal number from diploid to haploid the gametes of both the male and female fuse together to form the zygote and this is called the fertilization process..... the children's features may be similar to the parents due to the genes of the parents which are transferred to the children during the embryonic stages
