How do I use math formatting to ask a question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um. you see how it says "equation" underneath? else just use *, /, ^, and those sorts. with lots of brackets. brackets/parenthesis are good.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Or else u can use the Equation Editor or the Draw tool just below.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

those all work. drawing is hard without a tablet though :<

hero (hero):

Using Equation Editor, For fractions use: frac{a}{b} For square roots use sqrt{a}{b} or simply sqrt{a} For exponents, use a^b For math symbols such as pi, make sure you separate pi from variables as well as numbers so that it shows up correctly. Using brackets and parentheses correctly will be important. If you don't use them properly, then the outcome of what you want to produce will not show up properly.
