Could I find the two missing side lengths of a right triangle if I only know one side length and one angle measure?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Yes. You could use the trig functions to find one side and then the Pythagorean theorem to find the 3rd side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is trig functions?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

apparently not lol

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sin, cos, tan, those trigfunctions

OpenStudy (amistre64):

they are defined by ratios of sides so if you know an angle you can determine its other properties of the triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh ok.....Thanksss!!!!!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or instead of using something youre not ready for its special triangles that can be used such the 45 45 90 degree triangle rules or the 60 30 90 triangle rules to find the other two sides
