We're learning about quadratic functions and: The height of a rocket is h(t) = -4t^2 + 32t, where h(t) is the height in metres t seconds after the rocket is launched. a) How long will the rocket be in the air? b) What is the height of the rocket? c) WHen will the rocket touch the ground?

please help.. I don't get it D:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It has a max at t = 4 where the height is = 64..

When you plot a graph you get a parabola which reaches its max at t = 4 and crosses the x axis at t = 8.

Thus a) 8 s b) 64 m c) 8 s

use the dy/dx to find the maximum point, d²y/dx² to test if that is maximum or minimum value
