explain the difference between defining variables to represent consecutive integers and consecutive even integers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When we define variables that are consecutive integers they are numbers like 1,2,3...that increase by 1 each time. Therefore, we write x, (x+1), (x+2)... However, when we define even consecutive integers they are numbers like 2,4,6....which are increasing by two each time. Therefore, variables would look like x, (x+2), (x+4)
