I just did a similar problem and got it right but it only had 2 points ( A and B). Also, times were given (beginning and ending times).

OpenStudy (lalaly):

A to B = 52 miles velocity =35 mph B to C = 75 miles velocity =50 mph First you need to find the time for the whole journey A to B>> \[time = \frac{distance}{velocity}\] \[= \frac{52}{35}\]= 1.49 hrs from B to C >> \[ time = \frac{75}{50}\]= 1.5 hrs Total time = 2.99 hours Total distance = 52 + 75 = 127 \[\text{Average velocity} = \frac{\text{total distance}}{\text{total time}}\]\[= \frac{127}{2.99}\]= 42.47 mph
