What is the different between 'putchar' and 'printf' in C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Putchar prints a single char to stdout and is equivilant to putc(c,stdout) where c is a char. Printf prints to standard out and allows you to print formatted text. The formatted text can contain data from floats,ints,chars, or char arrays.
