to find whether an equation is differential or not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y = 5x + 10\] is not differential, while \[a = {dv \over dt}\]is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dy\[dy divdx =\int\limits_{0}^{?x}\sin \left[ xy \left( s \right) \right]ds\] is this a differential equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whether it is ordinary or partial differential equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It doesn't look ordinary to me, but I do not know for sure. Post in the math group. They would love to help over there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve \[p ^{2}y+p \left( x-y \right)-x=0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is any one there?

OpenStudy (jamesj):

The last equation you've posted ... are you solving for p? If so, this is quadratic in p and you can use the quadratic formula. If not, post again in Mathematics and someone will jump on it for you.
