What is the difference between molecule and radical? Sum of oxidation states of all atoms in a molecule = zero, and sum of oxidation states of all atoms in a radical = charge on the radical?

radical can have a free electron tthat is unpaired si u can guess
how can I recognize it when it is say: MgO, AlCl3, KCl, Ga2O3, HNO3, SO4, and N2? Which of these are radicals and which are molecules? o.O
Most molecules contain even numbers of electrons and vice versa...
so how am i going to recognize a radical?
