A number that only have factors of 1, and itself. E.g. 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19 are primes because they can't be divisible by any other number except itself & 1.

prime numbers are number that cannot be divided by anything aside from themselves and one.

note: 1 is not prime.
