can anyone help me in forward biased & reversed biased?
Diode or transistor?
Diode
ok, whats the problem?
i want its simple definition + diagram?
A diode is basically a PN junction. Like so:|dw:1327509182264:dw| We say that the diode is forward biased when you connect the positive terminal of a battery to the P type part of the PN diode and the negative part to the N type. In this mode of operation you can get a significant current to flow through the diode. In the reverse mode you switch the connections of the battery to the diode. Positive terminal goes to N-type and negative terminal of the battery goes to P-type. In this mode there is very little current passing through the diode and it flows in the direction opposite of the one in forward biased mode. This current is usually in the order of 10^-12 amperes. That's very basic and not a very physical explanation. If you need a better explanation just say so and I'll do my best.
