Write down the equation of the lines through these points. (-4,-3) and (-4,1).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=-4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this line is parallel with the x axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the slope is zero

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you show me your work???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I graphed the line and it was parallel to y axis and not the x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes yes it's parallel to the y i've made a mistake but the equation is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought the equation for a line was y=mx+b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have never solved for x before

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first the slope isn't 0 it's undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and when the line is parallel to the y the equation is x=(number) and when the line is parallel to the x the equation is y=(number)

thank you for your help.
