Linear algebra. Working with Spans. Want to know how to determine if b is a linear combination of [a1 a2 a3] when the last row of the REF matrix is all zeros. I think it should be the text says it's not. I don;t understand why there would not be an infinite set of solutions because x3 would be a free variable.
