Use synthetic division to determine the quotient and remainder. (4x4 – 5x3 + 2x2 – x + 5) ÷ (x -2). please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x^3 +3x^2 + 8x + 15 + 35/x-2 the 35/x-2 is the remainder. You can also say Remainder of 35

Is this Algebra 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just learned this today!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How'd you get 35/x-2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah how did you get 35/x-2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the remainder is 35, and then just like in regular long division we can use the baby remainder and say R35, or we can do it normally and put it over the divisor. try it with 41 / 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a remainder of 1, and so you have 8 and 1/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 20/x-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I keep getting 35

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you type the whole process?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure thing
