1st set id to mutliply the coefficient of x^2 by the constant 12 x (-3) = -36 find the factors of -36 that add to give 16.... hint the larger factor is positive then \[[(12x - 18)(12x - 2)]/12\] simplify by taking common factors \[6(2x - 3)2(6x -1)]\] leaves (2x - 3)(6x -1)
