why ameter connect in series in electric circuit?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because circuit in the series have same current which you measure with ameter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

imranmeah you are sure?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ammeter is just another element in series circuit. but it has very low resistance so it doesn't change the current of circirt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i believe your answer incorrect

OpenStudy (turingtest):

what do you think it should be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your second answer is correct thank you

OpenStudy (jamesj):

If it were in parallel, it would almost certainly have a different current running through it vs. the circuit it was trying to measure, which would be useless. Hence putting it in series is the only option.
