Is (-2, -5) a solution of the system, 3x + 2y = 4 and 2x - 5y = -29?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

One way to find out is to stick the values x=-2, y=-5 into each of those equations and see if what is on the left hand side of the equals sign matches what is on the right hand side of the equals sign.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, neither. It is not a solution.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The solution is x = -2 and y = 5
